Solid parts, but built like a house of cards. First, I will start with it coming out of the box with #1 a bent rim, #2 a lopsided sprocket which seems to be caused only once crank is connected with top hat bolt to the sprocket, #3 busted handlebar caps (not the biggest deal) putting all this aside I could live with until #4 hearing a clunking noise over every bump and upon further inspection, the bottom crown racer of the headset assembly is completely bent. Unbelievable that this had any type of quality control and somebody genuinely gave this bike the thumbs up before selling it. I understand this is not the highest end bicycle that is offered, but this just seems unacceptable out the box. I have seen bikes put together much better off a Walmart shelf. Lastly #5 shipping box was absolutely trashed upon arrival.
Nice
So firstly, the shipping setup is a bummer. You have to sign for it, which I was not aware of until it was shipped. Perhaps it said something in their notes somewhere, but who reads all that crap? It should let you know when you purchase, like other places do. On top of that, on the Fed Ex site, you can choose to pick it up at the shipping warehouse closest to you, or change the shipping location, so I could have had it shipped to work so I could have signed for it there, but CG makes it so you can't take advantage of that option. I reached out, and they did offer to change it so it would ship to the location for pickup, but the closest place was 40 minutes from my home. So not much help. This should be changed in the future. People work during the day, and can't sign. I understand you do it to deter theft or defray possible costs on your end if something goes wrong, buyers should at least be able to take advantage of the options the shipping company provides. I will say that I dealt with Rosa, and she was pretty cool about it considering how whiney I was, lol, so thanks Rosa.
OTHER THAN THAT! What else can you say? A bike everyone else is selling for 800 bucks for 400? No brainer. The bike arrived well packed and in perfect shape, from what I've looked at so far. I didn't assemble it yet, had to run back to work after waiting to sign for it, but it looks great. So even shipping issues considered, would I still order it again? Yes, I…
Yesss!!!! Why did I wait?
Ordered on Sunday. Arrived on Wednesday! Didn’t pay for expedited shipping or anything! The 26” Haro DMC Master is soooo sweet! It’s been a long time since the 90s, but I think this is another level of quality. Drop-outs are oversized. So are the wheel axles. Sealed bearings throughout. It’s much lighter than I expected too. I always thought that 26” would be awkward on a BMX, but the geometry makes it so natural for a tall guy. I highly recommend the DMC 26.
