What Is OCEV?

According to California Bill No. 1271 (SEC.2312.5(d)), certain vehicles are specifically excluded from being classified as electric bikes under this code. These vehicles are categorized as Out of Class Electric Vehicles (OCEVs) for the following reasons:

  1. Highspeed Potential: Vehicles with two or three wheels that are designed by the manufacturer to be modifiable for speeds greater than 20 miles per hour on motor power alone or exceeding 750 watts of power.
  2. Post Sale Modifications: Any vehicle that has been modified to attain speeds greater than 20 miles per hour on motor power alone or to exceed 750 watts of power.

These exclusions ensure that only properly classified e-bikes can be markets as such, maintaining safety standards and regulatory compliance. Riders of OCEV's should be aware of the different legal requirements and responsibilities associated with these vehicles.

Additionally, OCEVs are designed to offer performance and features beyond what traditional e-bikes can provide. Always verify the intended use and ensure you are compliant with local and state regulations when operating an OCEV.

All bikes purchased through City Grounds MUST be assembled by a certified bike shop mechanic. If the bike is NOT built by a certified bike shop mechanic, any warranty will be VOID. We will request for an assembly receipt as proof of professional installation.

For all warranty claims, please contact our Warranty Team at warranty@citygrounds.com. So that we can help you in a timely manner, make sure to include the following:

  • 1. Order Number (we will confirm date of purchase and determine if the item is still under the manufacturer’s warranty time limit)
  • 2. Brief description of the claim
  • 3. Photographs
  • 4. If the item is a bike or frame, include the serial number

We evaluate all warranties case-by-case to determine the best course of action and get you serviced to the best of our ability!

Warranty does not apply to the following:

  • • Any part of a product that has been installed, altered, repaired, or misused
  • • Damage from unintended style of riding, abuse, neglect, accident, and racing
  • • Normal wear and tear of any product (including but not limited to - saddles, grips, tires, tubes, cables, brake pads, chains)
  • • Failure to provide regular maintenance of any product

Labor and shipping are the responsibility of the customer. We do not cover parts purchased and labor performed by another bike shop.

The Crewser!

Nice and balanced 29 inch BMX big wheel bike. The paint job is really pretty. I love the gloss black and purple. Easy to put together and rides smooth.

Alpha

My first Big BMX bike as an adult , I’m just finally glad to get bike to riding in style. I remember my first BMX when I was around 5 yrs old and the responses from my friends and family were so welcoming . My purchase of the Crewser has recently brought back some of those very same moments. I’m looking forward to my ride out with “The Pack” to give a more exciting and critical viewpoint. However great investment on my behalf Thanks CG🫡💯

I ordered this bike from city grounds for my son’s graduation. My son wanted to put i together so he did right down to the petals, which did not fit at all on the crank arms. I sent an email to this company and they told me I should have taken it to a bike shop. (We have all put bike together in our lives not rocket science). I let my son be a teen and put his bike together. SMH (city grounds)!! So now they want to charge me another 100 for parts and delivery and say they will try to give me a discount on shipping. Once this is fixed Never again!
