A memorial fundraiser has been set up for Christopher Cono who tragically passed this past weekend during a race. Chris was a staple in the cycling community and we at City Grounds were lucky to have had the opportunity to help sponsor some of his events and get to know him over the years. He will be missed. The organizer of the Fortune 700 race series, a long-time employee of Velo Pasadena, and a usual suspect on all the local group rides, Chris was a true leader and advocate in the cycling community since the 1980s. Week after week, Chris could be found racing passionately and vigorously on the LA crit scene. He was a unique character and great teammate who will be greatly missed by all of us. Chris leaves behind a wife, Akiyo, and two sons."
