That's why we chose the Resist Nomad; this lightweight wire bead tire can take plenty of abuse and skids, and will provide plenty of grip on all sorts of terrain. I've built up my old school GOrilla Kilroy with the same wheelset with the intent of building up a commuter bike. Even though this would be considered a 700c FGFS bike back in 2008, I've raised my saddle and installed a longer stem to transform this beast into a daily commuter. I've got a nasty one mile stretch of pavement that mimics the cobble stones in the Paris Roubaix, and this wheelset rolls over it like butter. The 700x45c Nomad tires doesn't roll as quick as my 700x22c Continental tubular tires, but I'm willing to sacrifice a couple minutes difference in my commute for more comfort and durability.
