Aventon just made this Monday a little bit better by giving everyone a sneak peek at the new Aventon Diamond Frameset. Currently being shown off at the Shanghai International Bicycle Show, the ‘Diamond’ Frameset is constructed using 6066 aluminum tubing and inspired after the cutting shape of a diamond. This unique design style is a major change from the traditional round or even aero style tubing commonly seen on track bikes today. Aventon really paid attention to the details on this design with excellent welding and advanced polishing technology throughout.
The Aventon Diamond Frameset will come with a full Aventon Carbon Fork, Aluminum Frame and Integrated Carbon Seat Post. No word yet on when these will be available or for how much but we will be sure to update you as we learn more. Check out some of the photos below of the new product..

The Downtown Long Beach Associates present Bike Fest on May 3rd, 2014, celebrating bike-friendly Long Beach. This year features a fresh new spin on the event with a Criterium in partnership with Wolfpack Hustle, a hot new City Cross obstacle course, and Gold Sprint races from the stage (hosted by yours truly!).
Bike enthusiasts can enjoy the sport elements then kick-back in the Beachwood & Friends craft beer garden with thousands of fans enjoying live music, a vintage bike display, and special “Stylish by Bike” contests for both vintage and modern bikes/looks with great prizes! The event is free and will also include a Bike Valet, Children’s Activities, Vendor Village and food specialties from Downtown’s Restaurants.
Bike Fest of Long Beach will feature the Beachwood & Friends Craft Beer Garden in its line-up of activities on. Local award-winning Downtown Long Beach Brewery, Beachwood BBQ & Brewing, will be sponsoring the beer garden and has invited local craft breweries to join. Nearly a dozen craft breweries will bring different beer varieties with over 20 to choose from. Guests can purchase a 5oz. souvenir tasting glass and 10 tastings for $20.
Last but not least, Wolfpack Hustle will be hosting the Shortline Crit Race, which will include both track/brakeless and road divisions.

Friend of the shop Kris Fay over at LockedCog.com just posted up a review of the State Bicycle Co. 6061 Black Label Complete. Definitely worth a read if you have been looking into a Black Label, and even more so if you were looking to use it as a daily commuter rather than a track bike!
It’s been a few solid weeks riding around on the State Bicycle Co. 6061 Black Label that’s now become a sweet basket bike. After getting this thing built up I put it through the ringer with a solid couple of weeks art work (lots of rain), some long days on the trail and running errands around town.
